Evaluation Criteria

Application Procedures

  • Some of the Affiliated Scholarships have no specific criteria (unrestricted), while others do have specific criteria (criteria-based). All graduate students who submit an Affiliated Scholarships application are automatically considered for unrestricted awards. In order to be considered for any criteria-based awards, students are asked to:
    • Review the list of criteria-based scholarships at the end of the application to determine if they meet any of these awards’ criteria. If students would like to be considered for any criteria-based scholarship they must ‘check’ the box that corresponds to that award
  • The following materials must be submitted to the College of Graduate Studies by the deadline:
    • The Affiliated Scholarships Application Form, including all required attachments, completed by the student
      • Once the Affiliated Scholarships application is submitted, the student will receive an email notification that includes the application in its entirety. This must be converted into a PDF (Print – PDF) and emailed to the referee.
      • If confirmation is not received, this may be due to an unstable internet connection or technical glitch. Please resubmit the application until confirmation is received, as the application will not be submitted otherwise. You may need to try different browsers, computers, or internet connections.
    • One academic letter of reference
      • Submitted via the Affiliated Scholarships Reference Form
      • Students must send their referee the Affiliated Scholarships Reference Form link for completion

Nomination Procedures

  • The Affiliated Scholarships competition is administered by the College of Graduate Studies
  • Applicants are adjudicated by the College of Graduate Studies Scholarship and Awards Committee
  • Only successful applicants are notified
