UBC Okanagan – Postdoc Appreciation Day

September 19-23, 2022, is National Postdoc Appreciation Week and we want to celebrate!

In partnership with the Postdoctoral Association – UBC Okanagan, the College of Graduate Studies is organizing Postdoc Appreciation Day on September 21, 2022. The goal of postdoc appreciation day is to celebrate our postdocs, provide a time for postdocs to come together and build a supportive community, and an opportunity for postdocs to learn from campus support services.

The day will include presentations from campus services including Human Resources, the Centre for Scholarly Communication, lunch from El Taquero, a general meeting with the Postdoc Association, networking opportunities, a headshot for all participants, and more.

Registration closes on September 16, 2022, at 11:59 pm.

Building Effective Supervisory Relationships

Join Dr. Margaret Reeves, Associate Dean of the College of Graduate Studies, for an engaging session on building a healthy relationship with your supervisor. This workshop will cover what the relationship with your supervisor should look like, strategies to build that relationship, and tactics to improve relationships and address concerns.

National Postdoc Appreciation Week

September 19-23, 2022, is National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW). Celebrated since 2009, NPAW is a multi-institutional collaborative initiative to celebrate postdocs across Canada.

To celebrate postdocs across the country the National Postdoctoral Association will be hosting many virtual events.
