International

Master of Data Science (MDS) International Scholarship is a $5,000 entrance scholarship offered annually to an international student in the Master of Data Science program at UBC Okanagan. The scholarship recognizes a student who has demonstrated academic and leadership achievements in their undergraduate or graduate program, field or industry. The award is made on the recommendation of the Master of Data Science Admissions Committee.

Duration: One-Time Award (typically paid out over two terms)

Domestic

Master of Data Science Domestic Scholarship is a $5,000 entrance scholarship offered annually to a domestic student in the Master of Data Science program at UBC Okanagan. The scholarship recognizes a student who has demonstrated academic and leadership achievements in their undergraduate or graduate program, field or industry. The award is made on the recommendation of the Master of Data Science Admissions Committee.

Eligibility

  • Acceptance to the MDS program at UBC Okanagan
  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents for domestic scholarship

Evaluation Criteria

  • The program will consider academic and leadership achievements for this award

Application Procedures

  • All applicants who have submitted a complete admission application by the date indicated for each admission period will be considered for this scholarship
  • No additional application is required
  • Only successful nominees will be notified

Nomination Procedures

  • The Master of Data Science Admissions Committee reviews and evaluates incoming MDS students and makes an award recommendation to the College of Graduate Studies
  • Only successful nominees are notified

Conditions for Award Holders

Registration

  • In order to remain eligible for this scholarship, students must remain registered as a full-time student for each term of the scholarship payment

Deferrals

  • Students receiving an award cannot defer the award to a subsequent fiscal year

Withdrawals

  • If an award holder withdraws from his/her program of study, the funding received during the term for which the withdrawal is processed will be recovered by the College of Graduate Studies.
