In recognition of the accomplishments of its doctoral graduates, UBC has instituted the reading of doctoral citations during graduation ceremonies.

  • *Citations should be approved by your supervisor before submitting this form. For more information about doctoral citations please visit https://gradstudies.ok.ubc.ca/academics/program-completion-and-graduation/
  • The citation should be a maximum of 350 characters and summarize, in lay language, the nature of the independent research, the contribution to knowledge made by the candidate in the dissertation, and the intellectual and/or practical value of the work.
