Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies



IGS Program Plan

This form must be completed for all students admitted to the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies program. Section I is a Course Plan which lists all courses the student will be required to complete for the degree. Section II (for master's students only) indicates thesis credits. Section III lists the Supervisory Committee, and must be signed by each member. The form must be signed off by the Graduate Program Coordinator and Unit Head or Director as appropriate. Upon completion, the form must be submitted to the College of Graduate Studies (EME 2121), no later than the end of the student's first term of study.

IGS Course Scheduling

In order for an IGS course to appear on a student's transcript, it must first be created by submitting the below form to the College of Graduate Studies.   Please provide a course outline with the form when submitting it to Graduate Studies.

BLACKBOARD CONNECT: If you are creating an IGS course which will be cross-listed with an undergraduate course, please contact  ( with the Centre for Teaching and Learning, otherwise your students will not have access to the Blackboard Connect materials.

These templates are provided for your convenience and include all standard elements of a UBC syllabus.  Failure to include required aspects of the syllabus will result in a scheduling delay.
